Located 35 kilometers from the city of Cusco sits on the banks of the Urubamba River and is surrounded by Imposing Mountains and Glaciers. This river in its beginnings is called Vilcanota that comes from the Quechua word Willcamayu and means Sacred River. The Incas built villages, agricultural centers, aqueducts, ceremonial centers, temples and fortresses along its banks.
