If you are looking for a connection with the Inca culture, the Quechua descendants and The Living Culture in the Andes this half-day tour is for you, visiting the town of Chinchero, The Agricultural Experimental Center of Moray and the Salt Mines of Maras. This experience offers you incredible places, where the locals are proud of their ancestral activities as in the fifteenth century, wrapping us in their traditions, three different sights full of fascinating history and amazing Landscapes surrounded by mountains, fields, lakes and glaciers.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am and after 45 minutes we will arrive at the town of Chinchero, where we can appreciate how they have preserved the traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques, they will also show us how they get the bright colors for their looms naturally. We can appreciate the Textiles, looms and Clothes they weave and get them directly from the local Weavers. Definitely, the Inca living Culture in Chinchero is Real!!!
Then we will continue to Moray where we will witness how the Incas used agricultural experimentation Centers for the domestication of their crops thanks to the existence of natural earth depressions that the Incas turned into terraces or agricultural platforms with their irrigation Channels, a type of greenhouses.
Finally, in the third stop we will visit the Salt Mines of Maras, used since pre-Inca times and now with its 5000 thousand pools produce one of the finest types of salt in the world with its impressive pink color and an ancient extraction technique that will captivate us for its efficiency and beauty.
After our visit we will return to the city of Cusco arriving approximately at 2:00 pm.
