Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival at Cusco

Welcome to Cusco!!!

Upon arrival to Cusco´s Airport a transportation service wil take you to your hotel.

You will have the morning free to rest.

Day 1:Cusco City Tour: Korikancha Temple, Cathedral, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo and Park of Llamas.

In the afternoon you will visit the city of Cusco, known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here you will start your tour with the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca Palace and cult center of the Sun God, above which the Dominicans religius order built a Church, you will continue to the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important colonial temple in the city. Then, you will ascend to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture with Megalithic Stone blocks. Afterwards, you will explore Qenqo archeological site, where important Inca ceremonies took place. Finally we will drive to the Park of Lamas, Alpacas, Vicunas and Guanacos, where you will learn more about these beautiful south american Camelids.

Day 2:Sacred Valley: Chinchero, Textile Session, Maras salt mines and Ollantaytambo

You will visit Chinchero, a small and picturesque town that houses an important Inca archaeological center built at the end of the 15th century, as well as a beautiful and traditional church. Then you will visit the home of a local family where you can appreciate how they have preserved the traditional Andean spinning and weaving techniques and where they will also show you how they get the bright colors for their looms naturally. On the way to Ollantaytambo, you will stop at the Racchi viewpoint, where you will have some of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Afterwards, you will visit Maras, where one of the world’s finest salts is extracted, and which is used by renowned international chefs. 

After enjoying a delicious lunch in a nice restaurant of the sacred valley, we’ll arrive to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire and one of the few places where the Spanish conquerors lost an important battle. Well known for its platforms, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress that also served as a temple. Finally, continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, known as “the only living Inca city”; It is the best existing example of Inca urban planning, with stone streets that have been inhabited since the 12th century.

Day 3:Sacred Valley – Machupicchu - Cusco

Machu Picchu Tour with Voyager or Expedition Train round-trip

Early in the morning you will be transferred to the train station. You will visit one of the world’s most famous landmarks: the citadel of Machu Picchu. The excursion begins on board of the train. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will begin your ascent to Machu Picchu, where, surely, you will live one of the most unforgettable experiences. Once there, you can walk through every corner of one of the Seven Wonders of the world, accompanied by an expert guide, and enjoy free time to explore this enigmatic place. At the appropriate time, you will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes and later board the return train to Cusco, via Ollantaytambo or Poroy station. Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 4:Cusco - Lima

Farewell day

At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the Cusco airport to take your departure flight.
