Tour Description

The city of Cusco, where the Incas built their temples, palaces and streets with the finest architecture, was called the navel of the Andean World and Capital of the Incas; upon the arrival of the conquerors they built impressive Churches, Convents and Monasteries of Colonial style on the ancient Inca Wonders generating an architectural fusion of two totally different worlds; for this reason the city of Cusco is recognized as the Rome of America, Archaeological Capital of America and Cultural Heritage of the World.

Itinerary

Point 1:Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral of the city of Cusco

The Tour begins with the pick up from your hotel and continues with the visit of the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral of the city of Cusco, where we will enjoy the magnificent colonial architecture, paintings of the Cusco school, murals, sculptures, pieces of art and antiques of great value

Point 2:Qoricancha and the monastery of Santo Domingo

Then we will go to the Qoricancha and the monastery of Santo Domingo, built on the Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha means Golden Temple and the chronicles mention that it was the most important Inca ceremonial center of Cusco City.

Point 3:Sacsayhuaman

 Then we will go out of the City towards Sacsayhuaman, the most imposing temple built by the Incas with huge stone blocks of up to 95 tons placed perfectly on top of each other, that gives it a Megalithic style, in addition, Sacsayhuamán witnessed one of the most important battles between the Incas and the Conquistadors, reason why it is called Inca Fortress.

Point 4:Qenqo

We will continue to the sector of Qenqo which means Labyrinth, the ancient Inca priests used this place to perform rituals, an altar that is located in a cave was used to perform sacrifices of llamas and human mummifications.

Point 5:Cusco - San Blas

Finally, we take our bus to return to the most important neighborhood of Cusco, San Blas; where we will walk along its traditional streets with its beautiful artistically painted houses such as the case of Calle 7 Borreguitos and Tandapata.

Point 6:Plaza de Armas

The Tour ends in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco where our Guide will give you options of fantastic Restaurants for lunch or dinner.
